ADEBANJI ALADE  b.1972

 

Adebanji Alade is a fine portrait and landscape artist who is at the peak of his career, he is the President of The Royal Institute of Oil Painters. The President of The East Kent Art Society. A Honourable Member of The Society of Graphic Fine Artists and a member of The Chelsea Art Society.

 

Adebanji has written three books, “The Addictive Sketcher”, “Addictive” and “Painting People & Places”. The first is an instructional and motivational book on sketching, the second  is one of his illustrious sketchbooks published on his daily sketches and the third is his first painting instructional book. All three books are published by Search Press.

 

Adebanji is also an energetic and passionate TV presenter, he is part of the One Show Team on BBC, often presenting in a very unique style, topics and themes in art and life of artists and their work. 

 

He also teaches painting the portrait and figure from life at the Heatherley School of Fine Art  London and the Art Academy London. He also does talks, demonstrations and workshops for schools, colleges and art societies.

 

He has been on the judging panel for Patching’s Art Competition organised by the Artists Magazine, The Jackson’s Art Prize, The British Art Prize organised by Artists and Illustrators Magazine, The Bath Prize Competition, Pintar Rapido Competition , The Society of All Artists Art Competition, The London Graphic Prize and he has just been nominated to be a selector for the Prestigious Discerning Eye Competition.

 

He is also the founder of The Addictive Sketchers Movement, an online school where he coaches students how to develop a sketch habit.

 

SHORT STATEMENT ABOUT MY PRACTICE

 

Adebanji  loves to sketch and paint people, he has the ability to capture through the painted sketch the character of his sitters.

 

Adebanji is also a powerful landscape and urban landscape artist, he paints both outdoors and indoors and captures the powerful mood, light and atmosphere is his landscapes and urban landscape paintings.
